If we are to do anything for God, it will not be on a safe road. Because if the road is safe, then it means that we are not encountering any kind of opposition.
Yet when I consider my age, I’m quite excited to be entering the second half of my life. Thrilled, actually! Because I know that God has been cultivating the soil of my life for these first 40 years in preparation for the next.
This is not a sprint to get the most “converts.” No, this work is a marathon which will result in REAL transformation, not just a single action. This morning I earned a bit of trust. More will be earned over time.
This will shock you, I know. But I am NOT very patient. Right now my feet feel very “itchy” and my spirit wants to find new places to explore.
The story of God in each of us is unique. What prompts us to follow Jesus? Have we done what the original disciples did: leave everything and follow Him? Or are we like those who followed for a time and then turned back when the call got too hard, when Jesus asked too much?

The emotional turmoil of being so vulnerable is like a riptide in the ocean. I knew the potential was there, but the reality is so much more terrifying.
